If you were arrested due to the error of a law enforcement agency, you may file a petition for expungement of your arrest record.
If you were sentenced to probation, or to pay a fine only, you may petition to “set aside” your conviction.
Juveniles may petition for sealing where no charges were filed.
Nebraska provides for the limited sealing of juvenile adjudications upon a showing of rehabilitation.
If you are not eligible to have your Nebraska criminal record expunged/sealed, you still may be eligible for a pardon or other relief. Under the Nebraska Constitution, the Governor, the Attorney General, and the Secretary of State have the power, sitting as a board, to grant pardons.
