Alabama courts may expunge non-conviction records of non-violent felony and misdemeanor charges, including cases where charges were dismissed after successful completion of a drug court program, mental health court program, diversion program or veteran’s court program.
Conviction or Other Disposition
Alabama law contains no statutory provision for expungement or sealing of adult conviction records.
If you were not adjudicated delinquent or a youthful offender of any felony or misdemeanor involving drugs, weapons, violence, or sexual offenses, you may be able to have your criminal history record sealed.
If you were adjudicated as a minor for certain drug, weapon, violent and sexual crimes, Alabama does not allow your criminal history record to be sealed.
If you do not qualify for an expungement or record sealing, you may still be eligible for a pardon.
